I’m a 2nd year Uni student staying with 2 other students, and Southside have been brilliant in helping us find a flat and settle in. The process has been smooth, uncomplicated (even though only one of us could be present during the viewings & application process, with one of us even living outside of the UK) and they’ve been very helpful in assisting us along the way.
Securing a flat was made so easy with their help. I’ve heard some horror stories from fellow students about move in dates being delayed, or last minute issues being discovered in flats they’d already paid deposit for, so I was a bit worried. Fortunately, everything was as appeared with the flat! Everything leading up to move in was clearly explained & communicated to us so we knew what we had to do, and the move in itself was also very simple.
We received a care package upon collecting the keys with some essentials (washing up liquid, tea, coffee, a pack of cookies, and even a bottle of prosecco lol) which was a lovely sentiment.
Our property manager, Ione Patterson, has been an angel. Any small issues that have arisen since moving in have been redirected by her to experts as soon as I sent an email alerting Southside of the problem, and they’ve all been sorted within a few days at most, and on the same day if possible. She’s also been very helpful in answering any questions we’ve had – even the silly ones. Her response time is great, and I get the feeling that she’s genuinely interested in helping us settle in. A month after moving in, Southside called to check in on us which was another sign they actively care about the wellbeing of their tenants.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Southside. Especially if you’re a student, having a good agent to walk you through the process can make it far less stressful. It’s also great having help on hand whenever there’s a problem – and there’s usually a couple upon moving in to any new property – instead of having to figure it out on your own and chase it up constantly. Anything we’ve needed has been responded to promptly, effectively, and kindly. The entire process has been, thankfully, made much more manageable and enjoyable with Southside’s help! olivia
